Ecodan Operational Data Explorer Service
What is the Ecodan Data Explorer Service?
Ecodan Data Explorer is an independently developed service provided by i-HEATPUMP that turns recorded Ecodan operating data into accessible engineering insight. The service is available either during commissioning, maintenance, and repair of Ecodan heat pumps, or as a standalone remotely delivered service.
As a Mitsubishi Electric approved contractor, the Ecodan Data Explorer enhances the independent expertise we can offer.

Ecodan heat pumps (FTC4 / PAC-IF05 onwards) manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric support an onboard SD card.
When correctly installed and formatted, the memory card logs a wide range of operational data each minute until the card’s capacity is exceeded, where it is then overwritten with fresh data.
The quantity of operational data stored is dependent on the SD cards’s capacity, and the period of time that has elapsed since a correctly installed card has been installed with the system turned on.
The data is extensive, independent of wireless connectivity, and can be useful for verifying correct operation, or for investigating complex faults. This is especially true for intermittent faults or system behaviour that happens when there’s no engineer present to investigate the symptoms during live operation.
Native, manufacturer support is available, allowing users to view and chart the basic operational data and export and download spreadsheet excerpts for further analysis; however, this generally requires product expertise, and observation windows are limited to a single month, making analysis complex and time consuming.
i-HEATPUMP has independently developed proprietary software that transforms Ecodan operational data into a more accessible and useful engineering resource. Rather than relying on the native data viewer alone, the software produces a custom, interactive web-based Data Explorer that:
presents up to 92 days of operational history within each observation window
automatically highlights and interprets key aspects of system operation using the available data and engineering judgement
generates a comprehensive PDF summary covering the selected observation window
provides the complete decoded dataset as a single CSV file for further analysis in Power BI or other data-analysis software
The demonstration below uses operational data from a 5kW R32 Ecodan paired with a 200L packaged hot-water cylinder.
You can explore the data exactly as it is presented following an i-HEATPUMP analysis, providing a preview of the digital evidence available with eligible on-site services or as a standalone remote analysis.
Data quality: Analysis is dependent on the quality and continuity of the data recorded to the SD card. For technical information on Ecodan SD-card logging, please refer to the:
